The initial consultation, occurring preferably between January - April, will cover a number of issues when considering our beekeeping services.
A basic bee hive is $500, and includes bees as well as a lot of features that are listed below.
With our beekeeping services, there will be comparatively little visiting activity in November-February; up to two visits each month in April-June, and roughly one visit per month in March and in July-October. The duration of a visit will be determined by the needs of that colony, but averages about 1 hour per month. For more details click below.
We provide three pounds (roughly 1 quart - honey is sold by weight) of honey (by midsummer) for each hive managed. Honey for the first year will be taken from a related hive, so as to allow your new colony to fully establish. Honey processing beyond the first three pounds will be determined by the client and beekeeper based on hive health and client interests with the following options: client processing or beekeeper processing.
